Diane and Ed’s Holiday Missive 2020

2020-12-12-0001.jpg

The wait is over. Once again it's time for the Tellefsen annual Christmas newsletter. Diane and I have spent 58 Christmases together. And due to my ever-present holiday spirit, this is the third newsletter we've published.

First, the Covid guidelines in California are quite strict and make no sense to me. Must I stay out of the kitchen when is Diane is cooking and stay 50 feet away from her when I make suggestions to improve her efficiency?

In other years, we've made exciting trips: Rhine cruises, National Parks, with the grandkids, and Marine reunions.  The excitement this year is a trip to the mailbox or a visit to Costco. Though Amazon daily deals offer us much merriment, our book clubs, salon, and summer pool parties have all dissolved into a patchwork quilt of faces on zoom. I'm not one to complain. There are many exciting times at the Tellefsen's. Monday is the gardener is coming, wear your mask day. Tuesday is change the linens day. Wednesday is Domino's non-contact delivery pizza day. Thursdays & Fridays we reserve for deciding where we won't go on the weekend and who won't be coming for a visit.

Still, some good and not so good things happened this year. First, sadly Diane's Mustang now resides in car heaven, T-boned by a young driver who swore she never saw us. There were NO injuries, yet, I'm thinking about getting an armored Humvee as a replacement vehicle. Covid has awakened Diane's inner author. She works at adding to her musings folder and is producing some beautiful and thoughtful pieces. I too am writing if only to offer proper contrast to Diane's work. You can read them on readersedge.com.

So, restrictions aside, we are two lucky people with southern California sunshine, our kids and grandkids healthy and doing well, and living only minutes away.

We wish you the best and healthiest holidays ever.  Stay safe
